What do you think of when you hear Halloween?
Do you think of sweets?
Or maybe dressing up?
Or maybe running from door to door in the dark?
Maybe it's the ghost stories?
What ever feeds your fear, Halloween isn't just about sweets, etc ...
Shocked? You should be ...
Long ago, Halloween was a day that people lived in fear. They were scared that witches would steal their children.
That a Vampire would appear and massacre their family.
They were scared that they would be cursed with the Werewolf.
Maybe a Zombie eating them and their loved ones alive.
On Halloween, there wasn't kids running around with laughter; it was cold blooded fear. They locked their doors and left black feathers outside to scare off witches. They hung up garrlic to warn away Vampires. They took out their best silver and stored it around the house or outside, to keep away the Werewolves. They probably kept an axe near the door to hack off the head of a Zombie.
They were happy to live through the night.
But were these creatures of the night true? Do they still excist? Did they ever?
It's hard to think of a creature that sucks your blood and is "ilergic" to sunlight. It's hard to think up a creature that can change into a wolf from a man or woman, don't you think? Disagree? Think up a creature now then.
Share it with me sometime.
For those of you who can't think up a creature, don't you think it's strange now? Strange that someone could think up such a thing?
Does this mean that they excist?
I'll leave that for you to decide.
But for now, enjoy your Halloween, but do not defy it's past. Remember why those people feared the day they called Day Of The Dead.
Happy Halloween ...
Muwhahah!
